The Child and Youth Advocate works toward achieving the following goals:
Children and youth receiving services under the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act (Enhancement Act)or the Protection of Sexually Exploited Children Act (PSECA) are able to effectively exercise their rights, access needed services, and have their viewpoints considered when decisions are made about them;
Issues concerning the nature, adequacy, effectiveness and appropriateness of services offered to children and youth under the Enhancement Act or PSECA are identified and communicated to the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
