Access to Information
When you are receiving intervention services (used to be called child welfare services), the caseworker will keep information about you on a file. You might not know what’s there. Do you want to know?
Some of the information on your file might include past history about you, plans and services that have been provided, as well as places where you have lived.
If you want to know what information is being kept about you, just ask your caseworker.
If you are told no ... then ask your caseworker’s supervisor.
If they still say no ... you can phone the Information and Privacy Office handling calls regarding Children’s Services at 427-2805 and ask for help.
You can always call the Child and Youth Advocate if you need help getting your information.
There are rules about what information you can have. You won’t get to see everything, only stuff about you.
